Cirencester Library's Sensory Area is perfect for children ages 5 and under, although the area is available for all children and their parents to use.

The space features lighting, toys and equipment to improve children’s communication skills, supporting and encouraging reading skills by giving them somewhere fun to learn. The space is especially valuable for children who have limited communication skills.

Cllr Joe Harris, county councillor for Cirencester Park comments: “Our library is one of the best facilities in Gloucestershire and this serves to make it better. Helping children learn to read and building their communications from an early age is vital in giving them the foundations they need in order to thrive later on in life.”

Also included at Cirencester Library is:

  • Stories with Lisa: A sensory story session for pre-schoolers & home educated children, which is also suitable for children who are neuro-diverse & differently-abled. Every Wednesday at 10 am, 11 am and 12 pm.

  • Baby Bounce & Rhyme: Bring your little ones along for an informal and fun session of singing and shaking those maracas! Every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 11:00 am (term time only).
