Willow Snowman Building Workshop!

Cirencester Town Council is excited to release details of its new Christmas addition for 2023…a town centre Snowman Trail and Community Art Project.

⛄ Sunday 29th October & Thursday 2nd November @ Market Place 9am - 4pm

⛄ Thursday 12th October @ St Michael's Park 12pm - 4pm 

⛄ Thursday 26th October @ New Brewery Arts 9.30am - 4pm 

The Trail will see nine sustainable, willow snowmen positioned around the town centre to encouraging people to get out and about, explore the town and its enjoy its vibrant shopping.

It’s free to enter and by completing a simple puzzle there’s a chance to win exciting prizes donated by local businesses like Mudbear Golf and the Barn Theatre. This project is supported by Gloucestershire County Council and sponsored by local business, Alison Fielden, Solicitor.

Local willow sculptor, Chris Oakey (aka Oakey Bear) will be running 4 free, community art workshops to build the 5ft high snowmen out of sustainable willow.

The final session will be held on the Market Place on Thursday 2nd November from 9am - 4pm.

Everyone is welcome to join in these free sessions, there’s no need to register, just turn up and start weaving; you don’t have to stay for the whole session. Chris Oakey will be on hand to guide and encourage participants of any age and ability.
