Medieval Bestiary Workshop
Next dates
Sorry, there are no future dates available
Medieval monks created beautiful illuminated books called bestiaries, featuring artwork and stories of animals and monsters meant to educate and entertain readers. In this workshop, participants will hear some of these stories and see examples of the artwork. Inspired by these, attendees can create their own artwork while learning how medieval monks obtained a broad range of colours. Finally, there will be an opportunity to try writing with ink, just as the monks did, and compose stories about the animals painted.
Suitable for ages 8 and up. Booking essential.
