The Library Summer Challenge!

Welcome to The Library Challenge 2024! This year is all about Sports and Reading. 

Saturday 13th July - Saturday 14th September 2024

Calling all young champions, book enthusiasts, and adventure seekers! Gloucestershire Libraries proudly presents The Library Challenge 2024, where the thrill of sports meets the magic of books. Lace up your trainers, grab your favourite book, and let’s dive into a summer of fun.

Why Participate?
Active Minds, Active Bodies: Sports and reading go hand in hand. Engage your mind and body simultaneously!
Family Bonding: Gather your family for shared adventures – it’s a winning team effort.
Rewards Galore: Complete tasks, earn stamps, and unlock rewards like stickers, certificates, and more!

How It Works:
1. Get active! Sign up to the challenge for free at any Gloucestershire library or online at gloslibraries.uk. Receive your challenge journal with 9 exciting sports-themed tasks.
2. Get reading! Explore tasks in the challenge, there’s something for everyone!
3. Get free rewards! Collect stamps for each task and level up. Show completed tasks to a library team member. Special rewards await at each level including stickers, certificates and much more!
4. Go for Gold! Reach GOLD level and be entered into special prize draw giveaways! Prizes include tickets and vouchers for local activities and attractions.

Sports Festivals Events -This summer, Gloucestershire Libraries are hosting two multi-sport festivals alongside The Library Challenge. There will be lots of fun and free activities for the whole family to enjoy: from rugby and football skills sessions, to Zumba, martial arts, sports day games, mini golf and so much more!Meet and play with local organisations like Gloucester Rugby Charitable Community Foundation and Cheltenham Town Community Trust. The events are free and suitable for children aged 3 - 12 years and their families.

Join us on;
Friday 9th August, 11:00 - 16:00 at Kings School Sports Field, Gloucester, GL1 2TF
Friday 30th August, 11:00 - 16:00 at Oakwood Primary School, Cheltenham, GL52 5HD
