For those that want to get out on the water on their own, you can try out kayaking or stand up paddleboarding (SUP), with tuition available for beginners to help you get to grips with the paddle and increase your confidence on the water.

Pre-booking activities before arrival is essential

If you fancy your boating at a more leisurely pace, you can take it easy at South Lake on a pedalo, rowing boat or mini-port electric boat, all available to hire. Families with toddlers will love the enclosed outdoor play area and paddling pool with a grass picnic area overlooking South Lake.

Hungry? Dine at The Beach Shack Cafe or enjoy a delicious gelato ice cream. You can also hire a BBQ pitch, and bring your charcoal and bangers for a cook-out in the sun or simply relax with a picnic beside one of the UK’s most well-known and loved inland beaches.

There are numerous walking trails throughout the Country Park that connect to the wider water park. Pedestrian access is permitted to these paths – but the use of the beach, swimming areas and other facilities are chargeable.
