Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool (open from early May to mid-September) is a firm favourite with locals and visitors, and it's easy to see why!

One of the oldest outdoor swimming pools in England (built in 1869), this unique pool offers the chance to swim in natural spring water heated to an average of 27°C (80°F).

Located on the edge of Cirencester Park, there is a 28-metre main pool with a slide, separate children's paddling pool, sunbathing patio, benches and tables. The tuck shop serves hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks.  

The Pool is run as a non-profit charity, and it remains at the heart of the community, operated by a dedicated group of volunteers.

We cater for all kinds of swimmers from fitness training and Aqua Aerobics through to swims for families with young children and inclusive swims for people with difficulties swimming in large groups. Our Tuck Shop is open during normal hours for snacks, hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

Booking: All sessions are listed online at www.cirenopenair.org.uk. Please book in advance for specific sessions:

Aqua Aerobics - Fun exercise sessions with music. Pre-booking required.

Drop-in Swims - Every weekday afternoon from 3 pm to 5 pm and from 10:15 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Just turn up and swim, no pre-booking is required. 

Fitness Swims - For people who want to improve their fitness and swimming technique. Fast, medium and slow lanes are available. Pre-booking required.

General Swims – This is for everyone. Pre-booking required. 

Inclusive Swims - For people with specific requirements and those who find it difficult swimming with large groups of people. Pre-booking required. 

Pre-school - Friday mornings in the children's Pool for parents and preschool children.

Season 2022 Prices

Adults £6.50 Concessions (inc students) £4.50, Children £3.50 Entry to the Friday evening youth swim is just £1!
