Batsford Arboretum

Batsford Arboretum is home to one of the largest private tree collections in the country with something to see throughout the year. Enjoy early colour from the snowdrops, daffodils and spectacular Japanese flowering cherries, escape the heat under the tree canopy in summer and prepare to be amazed by the outstanding autumn colour!

Bring the whole family (including the dog) and explore 60 acres of wild gardens, paths and streams, marvel at stunning views and find the beautiful oriental-influenced statues tucked into leafy glades. Our children’s trail is a fun way to discover the Arboretum, keeping little ones interested and entertained, plus, on completion of each trail, every child gets a prize!

You’ll find delicious lunches, including yummy options for children, hot drinks and home-baked cakes from the Garden Terrace Café. Enjoy your meal on the wooden deck where you can soak up the sun whilst the children burn off some energy in our play area. The play area is free of charge to use and is suitable for children under the age of 8.

Look out for our themed children's trails during the Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays!

If you love exploring in the great outdoors, you’ll love Batsford Arboretum!

Open daily (except Christmas Day).
